Grant in Action: Sarah Wehner, Pre-K Teacher
Sarah Wehner is a Pre-K Teacher at Mills Elementary. She received a grant to enable Mills to open a care closet. Ms. Wehner attended the weekly assembly and shared the project and how to use it with Mills students. She showed this video and you could hear the oohhs & ahhhs in the crowd.
Many of the Closet items were provided through the OEF grant including:
- Girls and boys underwear (all sizes)
- Panty liners
- watches
- umbrellas
- shampoo & conditioner
- hair ties & headbands
- detangling sprays
- hair brushes & combs
- toothpaste
- unscented and scented lotions
- breakfast bars
- slim jims
- protein shakes
- tuna snack packs
- fruit cups
- yogurt pouches
- chicken & beef noodles in a cup
- chicken & stars sipping soups
- Ravioli
- Mac & Cheese
- Hormel Complete meals
Ms. Wehner was able to secure donations from the community and the Mills PTO to round out the closet. They are also partnering with Mission Owasso to get things they may need at Mills or to donate unneeded items.
