Third graders created optical illusion paper weavings. They learned how to make a loom and about various types of lines to create optical illusions. Second graders created city-scapes with a variety of quadrilateral windows. First grade was learning about arctic animals so they created polar bears with woven sweaters. Kindergarteners learned about types of lines and created lions, while the PreK students learned all about winter weather and made snowflakes.
All works of art were on display for their Black Light Art Exhibit on February 6th and 7th. Every student had art on display and all classes had an opportunity to tour the exhibit. They loved seeing their art and the effect it had under blacklight. One 5th-grade student said, “It was amazing and super cool!!” Another said they liked the creativity and the way the colors looked under blacklight.
“Thank you so much for helping us bring literacy to life by integrating art into the library lessons!”
